MOTOR MOUNT IN MINNESOTA
Wanted- side mount motor bracket for an Yngling. A couple of people in our fleet
have them and they are becoming more popular. Any information on who made them
would be helpful. As matters now stand, I will have to have one made from a
pattern.

—FRAUD NOTICE! [July 2004]—
Yngling SELLERS, be aware of criminals posing as buyers, as found by one Yngling seller:
I was sent a very large, very realistic, cashier's check (from a US bank in Ohio) which included sufficient funds to pay for shipping the boat to Europe. My bank accepted the check and made the funds available to me within 2 days. However, I decided to wait the full 5-10 business days they recommended, to make sure it was not forged.
The "buyer" was from Africa somewhere—and wanted $4500 for the shipping to be wired Western Union to his "shipper". I searched on the shipper's address in London and—Bingo—found at least 5 other people that had been scammed in the same way. I went to the FBI website and found this:

The Internet Fraud Complaint Center(IFCC) is aware of a large-scale fraud scheme involving the use of counterfeit cashier's checks. The scheme targets individuals that use Internet classified ads to sell merchandise.
Suggestion: Ask your buyer to send payment by wire from his or her bank to yours.
